FMF Cup Judging
Out FMF Cup Judging is based on the following 4 categories
Run Difficulty 20 points
Run Difficulty is based on these aspects
-Mixing together different difficult variations of trick categories is good.
-How well did the rider utilize the entire course and their time (did the rider utilize all the tricks in his/her bag to accomplish mind blowing transitions from one end of the course to the other)
-How well does the rider exhibit confidence and BIKE CONTROL throughout the run.
-Transitions from trick to trick. Fluidity scores well! Did the rider have to stop, place hands on bars etc etc? Wasting time for trick setup is bad
Trick Difficulty 20 points
There are 5 points available in each category (WAEB). Wheelie, Acrobatics, Endo, Burnout.
Difficulty of the tricks performed, no requirement on the amount of tricks in each category, although riders can only demonstrate a mastery of that category (5 points) with multiple tricks. (For instance, even if the rider can do the hardest possible wheelie ever, they still will not score a 5 if that is the only wheelie they do.)
Since no one can agree on a basis for trick difficulty amongst the riders, it will be completely up to the judge to determine how well you should score (1-5) in each discipline.
Execution 20 points
Execution is highly scored for the rider who gives the extra effort in their tricks. Examples are, pushing the stoppie turns as far as possible. Sticking your legs or hands out nice and fully in tricks where they can be extended. Showing your complete mastery of the trick awards you well.
Overall 40 points
Excitement/presentation – This category is the “feel category”. For overall the judge will not focus on any 1 topic. He will think about a few things and judge off his gut. Did the rider execute an exciting run? Were there mistakes in thier run? Were there defining moments within the run? Did the crowd and the other riders seem to enjoy what they saw? Did the run have a WOW factor?
- If the overall judge watches your run and says to himself, “Ive seen All or Part of that run before” he will dock a few points. We are encouraging freestyle, not practiced runs seen over and over! ADENDUM – natural 1 to 3 trick combos/transitions that everyone does all the time will not get punished
A rider who has unintended pauses, makes run affecting mistakes, loses focus, and other negative aspects to a run will not score as well as a rider without these negative elements in their run
